St. Joseph's Hostel Children

Many of the Children who live in St. Joseph's Hostel are street children, orphans and children from very poor families who would not otherwise get an opportunity to be educated.
After Class IV children from other villages must come to St. Joseph's if they wish to continue their education. Some of them also stay in the hostel as their home village is too far from St. Joseph's to make the journey daily on foot.

A 2 HOUR WALK TO START SCHOOL IN NOK DARA ON A MONDAY MORNING

Bernadette came with me to India as a volunteer in 2009.
For part of her stay she worked along side me in St. Mary's Tribal School.
We stayed in Gitdubling for the weekend and then set out at 06.00 on a Monday morning for Nok Dara and returned back to Gitdubling on the Friday afternoon.
In Nok Dara we stayed in the small school hostel along with 2 local teachers and 3 pupils.
